Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

No disposable cups at this event
At the Summerlin Half, we’re dedicated to creating a race that’s good for runners, volunteers, and the planet. That’s why you won’t find disposable cups at our aid stations.
✅ Safety First
Going cup-free means no slippery hazards on the course, no blowing litter, and a safer environment for everyone—both runners and volunteers.
🌿 Eco-Friendly Choice
In the past, events like this could use more than 60,000 single-use cups—most of which end up as waste. At the Seabreeze Half, we’re protecting the shoreline, the ocean, and the community we all love by choosing a more sustainable path.

🌿 Eco-Friendly Choice
No problem! Reusable cups are available for just $3 at packet pickup or on race day at check-in.

What is a USATF-Certified Course?
A USATF-certified course is a road race course whose distance has been certified for accuracy.

Courses must be certified for any road running performance to be accepted as a record or to be nationally ranked. Furthermore, running a race on a certified course allows you to accurately compare your time to performances run on other certified courses because you can be sure the distances were the same. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate.
